1) What is the Football Coded Grading System?

The Football Coded Grading System is the "Game-Changing" Assessment System that Objectively Measures Football Technique (Patent and Copyright Protected) using a Scientific Structure. There are 15 Grading Assessment Levels and 53 Technique Tests (Measuring Aerial Control, Ball Control, Dribbling, Passing, Receiving and Shooting). The Football Coded Grading System is the only grading criteria that is developed from Sports Science and Professional Football Analysis. Therefore the highest Football Coded Grading System levels equate to the required technical standards of modern Professional Football. Additionally the Football Coded Grading System is the only grading criteria that has a programme of drills to convert the learnt techniques into match specific skills, working within the FA coaching model and assisting the FA's 'Future Game' strategy to improve the technical standards of young footballers. 


2) What are the Coded Shapes?

The Coded Shapes underpin the Football Coded Analysis System which in turn underpins the Football Coded Grading System. The Coded Shapes represent physical technique movement patterns (e.g. joint angles/joint movements/muscle sequences). Every technical movement pattern sequence possible mathematically has been assigned a coded shape/s. The complete analysis system has thousands of coded shapes in order to breakdown individual and team technical sequences to unprecedented detail and precision. The Football Coded Grading System teaches the most frequently used techniques in Professional Football.


3) What Scientific Credibility does the Football Coded Grading System Have?

The Football Coded Grading System has Independent Scientific Validity from a European Parliament Scientific Committee and the University of St Mark and St John. The Football Coded Grading System was nominated by a European Parliament Scientific Committee to represent the UK for project in Caserta, Italy. The Football Coded Grading System scientific process has also been advocated by the University of St Mark and St John. 4) Who developed the Football Coded Grading System?

The founder of Football Coded, Gavin Seymour, is the lead developer of the Football Coded Analysis and Grading Systems. Gavin (right) has expert knowledge in football technique analysis (European Parliament scientific innovation nomination), football technique coaching and sports specific fitness training. Gavin has experience in professional Match Analysis from amongst others working at world leader Prozone and with Exeter City FC. He has a coaching background as a UEFA B and FA Youth Award Coach (Elite Professional Academy equivalent), FA futsal  Level 2 coach and Coerver (Technique Specific) Diploma Coach. Gavin has a substantial Sports Conditioning background working with amongst others, the University of St Mark and St John and Plymouth Argyle FC. Gavin remains a REPs registered L3 Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor and Sports Conditioning Advisor. As well as being qualified in Sports Massage and with an accreditation in Functional Resistance and Sports Specific Training.


5) How does the Football Coded Grading System Benefit Players?

The Football Coded Grading System gives players a structure to follow to continuously improve technically from complete beginner up to elite professional. The Football Coded Grading System can help players become experts in Aerial Control, Ball Control, Dribbling, Passing, Receiving and Shooting. With a Football Coded Player Portfolio, players can collect their certificates and grading presentation photographs, as well as practice at home with the Football Coded 'Home Practice Drills'. 


6) How does the Football Coded Grading System Benefit Parents?

Whilst the Football Coded Grading System Assessments add a small fee on top of your child's coaching sessions on an assessment week (average grading fee of £4.75), the Football Coded Grading System gives tremendous value in terms of Player Technique Development. Your child has the structure to continuously improve and track progress against peers and professional players. Additionally the 'Home Practice' drills encourage children to put down the playstation/x box and keep active.


7) How does the Football Coded Grading System Benefit Coaches?

The Football Coded Grading System helps coaches create a 'Player-Centred' learning environment. Coaches can use the Football Coded drills to simultaneously develop the techniques of their players regardless of player level. The Football Coded Grading System encourages your players to practice at home and gives players maybe struggling in a match environment the chance to gain self-esteem through achievement. The Football Coded Grading System is unique in working alongside coaches to convert the learnt techniques into match specific skills through progression based on sports science and professional football analysis. The Football Coded Grading System is designed to work within the FA coaching model and assists the FA's 'Future Game' strategy.


8) How Will the Football Coded Coaching Structure Improve My Coaching Sessions?

The Football Coded drills can be used in your session during the 'Technique' section (just after the warm-up). The Football Coded drills generally require one ball per player or a minimum of one ball per pair. If coaches want help planning the 'warm-up', 'skill drills' and/or 'small sided games', support is available. When your team/coaching programme become licensed in using the Football Coded Grading System, you will receive coach training from a qualified Football Coded Coach Tutor and receive a coach training pack. Player Grading sessions can be delivered at the same time as your coaching sessions if space permits. Whilst you are coaching, a Football Coded trained Assessor can borrow two or three players at a time (approx 10 minutes) to perform their Grading Level Assessments on a Grading Test Layout.


9) What Facilities do we need to run the Football Coded Grading System?

The Football Coded Grading System Assessments can be performed on any consistent surface such as astro turf, 3G, grass (in suitable weather conditions) and on any indoors sports hall. The Grading Test layouts vary in size but generally need a minimum of 20 metres by 20 metres. All Grading measurement equipment and cones etc. are provided by the Football Coded trained Assessor. Goals will be needed for shooting tests, however various sizes are acceptable with a ratio calculation taken to adjust the testing distances used.


10) How Much Is the License Fee?

The License fee is a tailored price to be discussed in line only with your benefits received. The only investment for the trial is the coach training, which is only £20 per coach for the entire Level A-E band or Level 1-2 band (includes Coach Training Session with Football Coded Coach Tutor, Coach Training Pack with Drills, and Coach Football Coded Accreditation Certificate). 

The Football Coded Grading System can make your coaching programme highly unique and the license fee is constantly adjusted to remain significantly outweighed by your increases in coaching revenue and player numbers. Essentially by becoming licensed you can generate additional income through using the Football Coded Grading System.


11) Where in the UK is the Football Coded Grading System Available?

The Football Coded Grading System is Available to Professional Clubs, Grassroots Clubs, Weekly Coaching Programmes, Schools and Camp Providers. It is currently in use and licensed in the South West of England. The objective is to be accessible throughout the UK. We are currently in discussions with many national football coaching companies to expand the reach of the programme.
